StarsReviewed OCTOBER 2013

This place has everything I expect from truly good holiday accommodation - A great spirit of supplying the best accommodation possible combined with genuinely helpful but unobtrusive service. The position is sublime - right on the beach with a very easy 5 minute walk to shopping and the tram that will take you to Adelaide. I wish every place I stayed was such great value for money with real thought given to the experience of guests.

At your doorstep

At your doorstep

There's plenty to do within walking distance right here at Glenelg. Here are some suggestions to get you started...

Family Fun

Big and little kids will love a day out at The Beach House, just 500m from our door. There are Bumper Boats, Mini Golf, a 5 storey supervised Play Castle, Dodgem Cars, Carousel, Ferris Wheel and fabulous waterslides! On the weekends during summer in Glenelg there are craft markets, pony and camel rides, a Trampoline and Go-Carts at the end of the Jetty in Moseley square.

Cycling, Canoeing, Fishing

If you are the active type you could Paddle a canoe on the smooth waters in front of your apartment or Hire a bike and cycle along the paths as far as you like, or just to the next cafe! Or we'll lend you a rod and you can drop a line off the Jetty.

Dolphin Cruise

For an unforgettable experience book a morning cruise and swim with the local dolphins, or relax and enjoy a sunset cruise.

A Bit of Culture

Soak up a bit of history and check out the current art exhibitions at the Bay Discovery Centre in Moseley Square, Glenelg.

Shopping on Jetty Road Glenelg is a great way to spend an afternoon. Books, shoes, clothes, cute homewares and fun souvenirs.

Eating Out

There are over 50 different restaurants and cafes in the Glenelg area. From Italian to Thai and Japanese, BBQ steak houses to fine Greek dining, fish and chips to excellent coffee, there's something for everyone. You can also enjoy a stroll around the Holdfast Shores Marina Promenade, where you'll find contemporary cuisine featuring South Australia's finest seafood including King George whiting, world-renowned Coffin Bay oysters and Spencer Gulf prawns, all from the pristine waters of South Australia. Our favourite spot is Zucca, great seafood and smiling sunny service every time.

Short Trips

Short Trips

Family Fun

Our kids love the Semaphore fun fair with its old carousel, little steam train and tin can alley games. There's also the new pool and water slides at Marion and the skate park at West Beach.

The Zoo

The Glenelg Tram provides easy access to the heart of Adelaide. Spend a day at the Adelaide Zoo and check out our Pandas Wang Wang and Funi - the only pandas in the southern hemisphere!

A Bit of Culture

If you're looking for an educational day out, catch the tram from Glenelg to the South Australian Museum and Art galleries in Adelaide City. The Old Adelaide Gaol, Bradman Museum and Adelaide Oval have lots to see and do. Afterwards, why not have a picnic in the Botanic Gardens.

Gourmet Markets

Adelaide is a foodie paradise with fantastic restaurants and dozens of excellent picnic spots in the hills, beaches and parks. All of our apartments are self-contained so you can cook up a storm after visiting the Adelaide Central Markets, or Farmers Markets in the city. On the way home, make sure you stock up your chocolate supply with a trip to Haigh's Chocolates factory.

Catch the tram to Rundle Mall shopping precinct for the boutiques and department store experience. For an alternative shopping experience we're just 10 minutes from IKEA (essential shopping for our country guests!) and Harbour Town which offers outlet and discount shopping. Marion Westfield shopping centre is a 10-minute drive from our door, with 100s of shops, a Multiplex cinema and Bowling alley.

Beer & Wine Tasting

The blokes always love a visit to the Coopers Brewery, or you can do some wine tasting and find out more about our state's wine regions at the Adelaide Wine Centre. Did you know South Australia produces more than half of Australia's wine? And 70% of Australian wine exported is from our state? Chances are you'll find your favourite right here!

Day Trips

Day Trips

Family Fun

The St Kilda Playground is a great spot for all ages with big twisting slides, flying foxes and more. Entry is free and BBQs are available so pack a picnic. Or climb the giant rocking horse at Gumeracha and visit the toy factory - they make great wooden toys.

Animal Magic

Why not take the kids on an animal safari at Monarto and see lions and giraffes roaming the plains. If cuddling a cute koala is more your style, you can't go past Cleland Wildlife Park and Warrawong Sanctuary where you can see and feed some Aussie wildlife. Or feed the kangaroos at the Hahndorf Farm Barn.

Adelaide Hills

Enjoy a day in the Adelaide Hills any time of the year. Hahndorf, the famous German tourist town is particularly lovely in autumn when the leaves are changing colour. And the Hills offer some wonderful places to eat - The Lane and Long View Vineyard are our favourites. Finish off with a romantic dinner and a stunning view of Adelaide's lights at the Windy Point Mt Lofty Summit Restaurant.

Down the Coast

Another great day out is a drive down the Fleurieu Peninsula to Victor Harbor or Goolwa. Learn to surf, visit wineries, Strawberry picking, the Alexandrina Cheese factory, penguins on the beach and a horse-drawn carriage ride over to Granite Island.

Glenelg is a great place to base yourself for day trips to the our world-renowned wineries. The Adelaide Hills offers fantastic views and is wonderful for a drop of Sav Blanc! Why not book a private tailored mini-bus tour with taste the Barossa. D'Arenberg Winery in the lovely McLaren Vale offers beautiful views, fabulous wines and a top-notch restaurant - all just 30 minutes away. Two hours away, the Barossa and Clare Valley offers a full day of hidden treasures. Start at the old copper mining town of Burra and end at the famous Sevenhill Winery.

Ships, Trains, Planes and Motor Museums

Historic Port Adelaide is where you'll find the Maritime Museum, the Railway Museum, Aviation Museum, markets and much more. For dads into classic cars and motorbikes, take a drive up into the hills to the Birdwood Museum. It's well worth the trip.
