"A highlight of our trip to Australia"

Don't be put off by some of the photos of the exterior, eg, the shark's head. The rooms here are lovely. We stayed in 24A which is right at the front (and beside the shark's head) looking at the esplanade and the ocean. The windows are mirrored so no one can see in and we were able to eat breakfast in the porch-like kitchen. We ate our take-out dinners at the picnic tables out front which, while not especially private, were just fine. There was a very large living/sleeping area, very tastefully decorated, and an equally large bathroom. The place was easy to find, parking was very handy, as was the location, being very close to the airport. Everything was close by: beach, pier, grocery stores, book stores, restaurants, tram into Adelaide. All in all, our stay here was very comfortable and relaxed. Highly recommended.

"Quirky but Fun "

Stayed at Seawall for three nights, Friday night, Sunday and Monday night. Saturday was spent in outback travelling in a light plane. Arrived early on Friday and was immediately let into accommodation which is a great start. Owner let us leave our bags and food with them until our return. Very accommodating in every way. Accommodation clean and modern. We found the strange sea things around the place added a bit of atmosphere and enjoyed our stay. The weather was cool but on a warm night it would provide lots of entertainment watching the passing parade as it is right on beach.

"Fabulous apartments "

I just wanted to drop you a note to say thanks for a wonderful stay. We both really enjoyed our trip and that was due in a big way to the accommodation. We will definitely be recommending you to our friends.

"A wonderful stay "

Thank you with supplying us with a fabulous apartment last weekend! My family was particularly happy with the space and cleanliness of the 3 bedroom apartment. It made celebrating a family members 70th birthday all the more relaxing, knowing we had a nice and picturesque place to stay. Once again, thank you and we hope to get back there again next time we are in Adelaide, if not the coming Summer.

"The sunsets were amazing, we saw dolphins one morning"

I just wanted to let you know what a wonderful time we had while staying at the Seawall Apartments. I'm so glad we were able to all stay at the one place, this made it such a special weekend for our group.

The sunsets were amazing, we saw dolphins one morning, the units were so clean and bright. Your hospitality was second to none. I even watched the moon (setting) over the water early one morning. In our extremely busy lives, what a treat it was to have a weekend away with old friends and just relax and enjoy good company.

Thankyou for helping us to make this possible.

"Nothing was too much trouble"

I loved this place and am really disappointed that I haven't been able to find an opportunity to get back there yet (tried twice, but couldn't line it up). The staff were lovely, helpful, nothing was too much trouble, including an impromptu early check-in with a sleepy child. I loved the apartment and the location. It was such a relief to find accommodation that was on the beach front but wasn't sterile and impersonal. I want to live here.‎

"5 stars all the way - can't wait to come back soon."

Just arrived home from our wonderful stay at Seawall Apartments and wanted to write to you to let you know what an enjoyable stay we had.
more..
I booked our accommodation after reading "What guests are saying" on your website. I'd never seen so many positive comments so I thought this had to be the place for us. And I wasn't disappointed. My family and I stayed in the two bedroom apartment (apartment 6) downstairs overlooking the beach. It was so lovely to have breakfast on the deck each morning. And it was even nicer having dinner on the deck watching the sunset. The rooms were stunning, the beds very comfortable and the place was spotless. I loved the big spa and the chandeliers throughout the old apartment. What a lovely renovation.

Outside was "quirky" to say the least. I took lots of photos to show the folks back home, surely they wouldn't believe me when we told them about the various bits and pieces hanging up on the walls outside. My favourites were the milk bottle and the skiing penguins! Mum and Dads, take your kids - they'll love it.

Another highlight was watching the dolphins play in the ocean.

Jetty Road was a 10 minute stroll away - found two fabulous chocolate shops and put on about 5 kilos during our stay.

5 stars all the way - can't wait to come back soon.

"Just all fits together soso well - absolutely SUPER"

Absolutely fantastic accomodation in everyway -great location -fresh, clean and immaculate. My partner and l were greeted with happy smiling staff on every occassion which were always there to help. We firstly stayed in No#5 which was private, beutifully self contained and excactly what we were looking for then we moved to No#6 upstairs with ocean views for a different feel for the rest of the week. What a spot.

A morning cuppa on a your balcony overlooking the ocean is a gift in itself. Well done on every level. Both of these fantastic rooms were very new, stylish and had everything you would want. My partner and l will definantley be back on many occassions - next time its the Chapel we are after - with such a great variety of accomodation in the 1place l garantee you will find a well appointed, super clean, stylish room to your likings.

Thanks again to the fantastic staff and we will see you again very soon..........Rhys and Alana

"Would definitely stay here again!"

Second bedroom had a double and single and room for a portacot as well. Lounge room had plenty of seating to watch TV, if you weren't too busy people watching or looking at the sea.
more..
The location is great with a short walk to either catch the inexpensive tram into the city, or to enjoy a diversity of shops, restaurants and entertainment. Having no cars driving past the front of the units (between you and the ocean) was great with 2 small children, and the sharks head provided much entertainment.

When booking a large group with many different arrival and departure dates and times, as well as shuffling of people between rooms, the staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Will definitely recommend this place to anyone I know going to Adelaide.

"Great Place to Stay"

It was by chance that we stayed here. Stamford Grand Aledaide was slow in replying to my enquiries and with the departure only about a week away, I went ahead and booked. I have absolutely no regrets! The 2 bdrm ocean view apartment was perfect for our family of 4. You are guaranteed a gorgeous view of the sunset every evening and the beach is...what...10meters away!? Real value for money as it would have cost me at least 3 times more to have to book a set of interconnect room with a full ocean view at the Stamford. The apartment is clean, and the fittings and beddings are almost brand new. There is even a HD-ready LCD TV for the living room.
more..
The only complaint we have is that the airconditioning for the children's room was not working properly (does not cool) but I am sure that can be fixed easily.

Short 10min leisurely walk to the jetty where all the food and action is. The city tram connects you directly to the city centre. Glenelg is the place to stay when vacationing in Adelaide and Seawall Apartments is the accomodation of choice for small families.

"Our sort of place!"

We photographed the outside of these apartments last year as we strolled along the Glenelg beachfront, thinking the place fascinatingly quirky and kitsch. Upon finding ourselves able to return for the same conference this year, now as a married couple, we searched online for suitable accommodation and were amazed to discover that Seawall Apartments were actually very chic inside.
more..
One of the contributing factors to our choice was the off-street parking, which would cost an extra $15 per day down at the marina in the swanky high rise accommodation, plus we prefer a more personal, individual environment - something "different".

How thrilled we were with Seawall Apartments over our 5 night stay in The Chapel ! The luxury spa was a perfect way to relax after each busy day before sinking into the wonderfully comfy king-size bed, and the self-catering facilities perfectly suited our needs. We felt private and pampered, delighted in the uniqueness of our surrounds and enjoyed the proximity to the beach promenade and great restaurants.

Rachel and Jane are friendly, obliging hosts and we look forward to returning to try out a different room - just because we can :)

My only caution would be for those who may find the spiral staircase a problem, especially as the bathroom is downstairs and the bedroom up. Didn't worry us though.

"Very comfy, great location, helpful friendly staff"

We were two couples travelling together. The units were very comfortable and clean with good facilities and staff were available at all times. Not fancy, but comfy. Location was excellent - right opposite the beach (great for sunsets etc) and an easy 5 minute walk to many restaurants, cafes, shops etc. Only a cheap 20 minute tram ride into Adelaide city. We'd happily stay there again.

"A hidden gem"

Fanastic location to explore Adelaide. Being based in Glenelg when travelling to Adelaide is perfect because of the vast array of nightlife and restaurants. Went across with some friends for a long weekend and upon arrival thought to myself I had booked incorrectly. Upon entering the rooms I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and standard of the rooms. It was perfecr for what we required. Staff were very friendly and courteous. A great place to stay.

"A gem with seaviews"

Don't be put off by the nautical 'circus' in the front yard. In truth it was all the boating paraphernalia that attracted our attention and after viewing an apartment, I immediately booked it for our next visit. The apartments are located in a group of original old buildings so the apartments are not uniform in design.
more..
We had an upstairs two bedroom sea front apartment (No 3 in Olive Court) for two couples and paid $179 per night. We were quoted $159 for one without the sea view, but why would you? We looked down over the pedestrian promenade lined with Norfolk Pines to the beach. There was a little balcony on the front to sit outside and watch the sunset. The spa bath off the master bedroom also had a sea view. The master bedroom had a queen size bed and the second, a double and a single. There was one bathroom, a well equipped kitchen and comfortable living room with a built in dining table and large flat screen television.

The lovely old building had been tastefully refurbished and elegantly furnished in a modern style. The general response from our party was, "I could live here".The location was fabulous with car parking at the rear and a pleasant short walk along the promenade to Jetty Street with it's array of restaurants and pleasant shopping strip.

"Best spot I have stayed in a long time"

If you are looking for 5 star - look further. If you are looking for a fantastic location right on the beach front - then highly recommended. Don't let the outside dissuade you. This is true art deco building that has been very well renovated.

There were 17 of us, which is difficult to accommodate in one area at a reasonable price. Seawall was fantastic for this purpose. The apartments were hugh, which meant we did not feel that we were in each other way. The apartments are bright and airy, giving an even greater sense of spaciousness. They were extremely clean with everything there to feel like home.

Location was sensational -lots of fit looking boys and girls to look at running along the beach! The sound of the waves crashing on your doorstep really adds to the beach feel.

It was a short walk to Glenelg and the various pubs. Never felt at anytime threatened walking from the Seawall to the main road and back, very late at night.Easy to get into Adelaide proper with the tram.

I can say that all of us had a ball and would highly recommend to anyone who didn't want to stay in a chain hotel. I want to come back in summer.

"Incredible!"

rs etc. To get into the office you have to walk under a massive sharks head, i loved it!
more..
We arrived early (11am) and knowing it was too early to check in we just wanted to leave our bags for a few hours while we went exploring. The receptionist (I didn't catch her name) was lovely and advised us that the housekeepig were in there cleaning it up but we were more than welcome to put our stuff in there. She showed us to our apartment.

Once we walked in I was shocked. it was so beautiful. Polised wooden floors, the Ceiling was high With crystal chandelleirs hangind down in every room. The bedroom was HUGE with a wall size mirror, fireplace and a corner spa. it was so much more than i'd expected. There was a big Kitchen, Bigger loungroom with lovely comfy lounges, a Plasma and DVD player. there was also a modern bathroom at the back of the kitchen. Also, a second room with two beds.

I payed $180 a night for this accommodation and i think that was a bargain. I think it is worth Much more. I would reccommend This accommodation if you are going to glenelg. I will definately stay there again.

"Not what it seems"

1st impressions were a bit scarey, thinking we've travelled all this way and we're going to hate it here but once inside the apartment, we knew we had chosen well.
more..
The 1st floor apartment was immaculate, and very modern with all the amenities needed for our 3 week stay. The balcony had a sea view and we were entertained by the early morning power walkers, swimmers and beautiful views, especially the sunsets. The pelicans were another bonus.

The staff were very friendly and we got invited for drinks with the owner who gave us an incite to all the seafaring memorabilia outside the apartments. The shark gave us a lot of entertainment watching peoples' reactions to it. On the flight home we met a couple who had toured Australia and they had a photo taken with the shark whilst passing through.

Glenelg has everything you need for a good holiday and all in all we had a great time.

"One of my very favourite places"

My late husband and many of our friends are from a naval background, so the spectre of the Seawall apartments and all the maritime connections meant we had a tremendously interesting and happy first stay for 2 weeks in 2004.Since then, I have revisisted twice; for 5 weeks in 2005 and for 4+ weeks this year.
more..
I suppose there are people who might find the facade a little challenging, a large fibreglass sharks head at the beach entrance and the miriad of small boats, anchors, ropes, capstans etc' around the grounds but, to me, it is a wonderful reminder of my childhood at this particular beach.

The property remains, from the outside, a typical 2 storied, balconied and verandah'd colonial beach front home of the early 20th century, beautifully restored internally to meet the needs of those staying right on the beach front. The accomodation is airy, calm and sometimes quirky, and the owners and staff the same + extremely accomodating, kind and helpful.

If you are a 'minimalist' this place is not for you, but if you love the beach, being away from main roads but close to where the 'action is', walking rather than driving, great company and beauuuuuuuuuuuutiful sun sets, look no further.

My last 2 stays were in the 'chapel' at the back of the property; perfect for a couple or just one, spacious, airy, welcoming, great fun and one of my favourite places to be. And, where else can you b-b-q overlooking the sea with all amenities provided.

If, after all this you feel you need a good glass of red, visit the southern wineries, especially Samuels Gorge
