Seawall Apartments is dedicated to providing a unique seaside escape for your next holiday in Glenelg.
Situated on the absolute beachfront in Glenelg in Adelaide, South Australia. Seawall is the #1 Hotel in Adelaide and South Australia as voted by travellers on TripAdvisor - the world’s largest travel review site.
In January 2017, Seawall Apartments was awarded a Travellers’ Choice Award from TripAdvisor. Seawall was named in the Top 25 Small Hotels in Australia, only one of two South Australian properties. A great start to our fortieth year of business.
Seawall was founded in 1977 by Alan Osborne. Alan saw the potential in the beautiful bay of Glenelg and proceeded over the years to create what is known as Seawall Apartments. All of the unique apartments are housed in four individual heritage buildings on the South Esplanade of Glenelg.
During the past decade, Rachael, Alan’s daughter has managed the property. Following Alan’s unexpected passing in 2016, Rachael, her husband David and children have continued to manage the property and are dedicated to the continuance of this iconic Adelaide accommodation offering.
Rachael has lived at Seawall for most of her life and has the industry in her blood. With Seawall celebrating 40 years of business in 2017, she has seen many people experience Seawall and enjoy it’s stunning location. Many people come back year after year for their annual holidays.
Being community-minded, the business is run by a team of wonderful staff who are like family. Local tradespeople assist with maintenance and Seawall also supports the local disability service provider Minda, who manages the laundry.

Seawall gave us a fantastic introduction to Adelaide. It's beautiful location, homeliness and serenity of it's surroundings found us changing our itinerary, just so we could spend more time in the ambience of it's charm.
Far exceeded our expectations. Look forward to returning again.
Buildings with a history
Seawall's 22 different apartments are housed in a quirky collection of 7 quite distinct heritage buildings with fresh, modern interiors.
The School House family apartment is part of a grand 1889 terrace. From 1912-1937 it was operated as a prestigious boys school, Holdfast Bay Preparatory College and many famous Adelaide families sent their young boys there.
The unusual 2-storey Spanish Deco building Olive Court dates from 1920 and The Beach and Boat House Apartments date from 1910 with detailed plaster ceilings and beautiful stained glass windows.
